Oldbury was infamous as one of the most polluted towns in the country - so much so that Dr Janet Sullivan recently completed a top-notch PhD thesis on the environmental and biological costs .

But then, I get a text. It’s my editor. “Need those pics ASAP!” Ugh, typical. I rush outta the shop, dodging puddles like I’m in some weird obstacle course. I head to the Oldbury Park, thinking I can snap some nice shots of the greenery. But guess what? The park’s closed for maintenance! Seriously? I’m about to lose it.
