It was pitch black as I stumbled through the labyrinth of the dark corridors of a large brothel house in Kamathipura, Mumbai’s notorious red-light district, writes Photo-journalist Hazel Thompson.

I walked home, taking in the sights. The houses on de Wierde looked so cozy. I could hear kids playing, laughter echoing through the streets. It reminded me that life goes on, even when work gets crazy.
