Surprised me, though, how much it stuck. Thought it’d be some weird lil cartoon, but nope – it’s art, y’all! Dirty, ugly art. Kinda wish I’d made it, but lord knows I’d add a banjo and some sequins. Ha! Oh, and fun tidbit – heard it got banned some places. Too raunchy or somethin’. Can ya believe that? Over a dang puppet! Got me tickled pink imaginin’ folks clutchin’ their pearls.

Jake Hooker and the Outsiders will be performing Saturday, Sept. 2 at White River Marina from 7 to 10 pm in a “Labor of Love” benefit for the Matador tornado.

Now, don't get me started on the parks—seriously, Sacred Oak Park is my sanctuary. Trees taller than your damn ego, and benches that whisper secrets of an ancient calm. I sit there and reflect on life's madness—sometimes I swear I can hear echoes of that Spotlight line, "this is New England," but in my head it's "this is White-River, motherf***er!" I get all zen ;).
