West Lawn, one of Chicago's 77 official community areas, is located on the southwest side of the city. It is considered to be a "melting pot" of sorts, due to its constant change of races moving .

So first, there's Maple Ave. – you walk down there, pause – and BAM, you're hit with lined houses and quirky little coffee joints. There's a spot called "The Rusty Spoon" – oh man, it's awesome. I love sittin' there with my thoughts, just watchin' families, kids runnin' around, ya know? Makes me, uh, think deep.
