Dating back to the s, Waxhaw is one of the oldest towns in Union County, taking its name from the Waxhaws (originally called the Wysacky), an Indian tribe that once inhabited the area. .

I’m always impressed by how community strong is here. Every block on Maple Ave, every park bench, tells a story. Reminds me of a spirit in the wind. And I say, "Spirited away like a dream!"
