In the 5 th century BC, the statesman Solon (in a bid to prevent the moral decline of Athens) introduced state run brothels and, by legitimizing prostitution, was able to tax their takings.

Parks, oh sweet parks! There's Solon Community Park, a lush hidey-hole for us weary souls. I often wander there, feel the grass, listen to birds... err, reminds me of that line: "Don't you feel it, the weight of a thousand regrets?" I laughs thinking, so precious. I near spilled my secret message once on a bench near the little pond.
