Now, I gotta mention that ol' river – Durham Creek – swirling by the old boathouse. That place is a gem, got me feelin’ all nostalgic, reminded me of that madcap, whimsical vibe in the movie where “Hope is a dangerous thing,” but dude, instead, it's hope and plain ol’ joy in each ripple along the creek. Not everyone knows it, but Durham Creek was where I once sat for hours, talkin’ with an old fella who claimed the water spells luck. I swear to ya, it made me mad at first – mad confused, then happy like a dog with a new bone!
