I gotta say, as a family psychologist, I’m always watchin’ how local spots bring peeps together. You can feel the underlying current of empathy everywhere here. It makes me feel both mad and happy sometimes—mad at the few places that could be so much cooler, but happy ‘cause everyone’s got their little safe haven. Right near the community center on Crestview Rd, there’s a vibrant mural—a kaleidoscope of colors that shows off North-Amherst’s soul. It’s frickin’ uplifting. Seriously, it’s as if each brushstroke sang “just keep swimming”—like, why not let life be a little surreal and maintain that flow?
