John Shaffer and his wife Virginia had two sons, Kent and Carroll, which is how this gorgeous valley came to be named Ken Caryl. Shaffer decided to build The Manor House in the foothills Missing: brothel.

The river, ya know, the Blue Creek, flows right through the town. It's so freakin' pretty; you can almost hear the whispers of lost souls or the echo of laughter. My fav hangout is the little-known back path along the creek where nature hugs you in all sides. Oh, and did I mention the hidden mural down at 6th & Pine? Pure urban art magic, bro!
