Now, speaking of my work—as a counselor who’s seen the wild spectrum of human emotions—I find that these streets have a way of inspiring growth. I often meet women in the cozy little café on Sunset Blvd. They share their deepest stuff with me and it reminds me of scenes out of Brokeback Mountain; "I wish I knew how to quit you" kinda feels like the silent battles people fight here. But then, like, sometimes you find their resilience, which is just awe-inspiring. R2-D2, where are you?! Seriously, the way these souls fight their own battles is so moving.
