There’s some funky history too. Did ya know Shamokin was once a hub for coal? Yeah, coal, baby! You can still see relics near the old mining site on Coal Street. It kinda gives this ghost-town vibe mixed with a blue-collar heart. I get goosebumps sometimes, thinkin’ ‘bout the tough lives these folks had, yet how they kept on thrivin’—just like that phrase in The Master: "I am not my circumstances." Ain’t that somethin’?
