Cottonwood Creek is one of my favourite hikes on Vancouver Island, and is the access point for some much longer hiking trips such as El Capitan and Lomas Lake.

And oh, the quirks! Every nook and cranny speaks to my soul. There’s a tiny gallery on Plywood Blvd. The art is somber yet hopeful. Reminds me of Margaret’s melancholic truth: “I didn’t expect happiness.” But damn, how real it feels here.
