Welcome to Wirksworth Heritage Centre. We are a unique local history museum, housed in an old silk mill, who exist to tell “the Story of Wirksworth,” a beautiful and ancient leadmining town in .

And yeah so, not everything is all sunshine – I got mad sometimes. Like, when local councilors try to modernize too fast, losing that old soul of the town! I mean, give me a break! You get a car! But then, every time I see families laughing together near the Red Lion pub on High Street, my heart just bursts with hope. Family here sticks together; they support each other like a big, warm hug.
