My childhood best friend had this surname and I remember we were talking about name meanings and she said “I wonder what my surname means? Dick-in-son. OH NO!”.

Anyway, I manage to escape that cringe-fest and head back to my studio. I’m feeling all sorts of emotions. Happy, angry, surprised—like a rollercoaster. I sit down at my wheel, and I’m throwing pots like a madman. I’m channeling all that energy into my work.
