First off, I hit up the local market on Shevchenka Street. You know, the one with all the fresh veggies and that one old lady who always tries to sell me her “secret” borscht recipe. Like, lady, I’m not here for your life story! But I gotta admit, her beets are bomb. I grab a few, and she’s like, “You’ll make the best borscht!” I’m like, “Yeah, sure, if I don’t burn down my kitchen first.”
