Here’s a kicker—didja know “whore” comes from Old English, “hore”? Meant “adulterer” way back—ain’t that wild? Language twists, turns, screws ya up. Nowadays, it’s slung at anybody—makes me wanna holler, “Ease up, jackass!” Gets me riled, seein’ it weaponized. But—ha—sometimes it’s funny, too. Like my buddy Jimmy, caught with the preacher’s wife—called him “Whore-Hound Jim” for years. Laughed ‘til I cried.

But then, I meet this artist. She’s super passionate about her work. We start talking, and she tells me about her inspiration from Khotyn’s landscapes. I’m like, “Wow, that’s actually kinda cool.” She even invites me to her next exhibition. I’m thinking, “Maybe I’ll pretend to be cultured for a night.”
