True story! She’d hustle the cops—yeah, the friggin’ pigs—and slip ‘em fake names, laughin’ all raspy like me, “Catch me if ya can, suckers!” Got away every time ‘til some snitch ratted her out. Ballsy as hell, right? Reminds me of Mia dancin’ in that abandoned flat— “What’s your problem, huh?”—that’s what Rosie’d say, spittin’ in their faces.

But then, I hear a knock. It’s my neighbor, Ana. She’s got a flashlight and a bottle of wine. “Power’s out, wanna drink?” she asks. I’m like, “Hell yeah!” So, we sit there, sipping wine in the dark, talking about life in Almodovar. It’s funny how things turn around. One minute I’m stressed, the next I’m laughing with a friend.
