Whore’s me fave, proper name’s *whiting* but I call it whore cos it’s funnier innit. Slippery little bugger, lives in the North Sea mostly, got them big sad eyes like Larry Gopnik in *A Serious Man*. You seen it? Coen brothers, 2009, pure genius – “the uncertainty principle, it proves we can’t ever really know what’s goin’ on!” That’s the whore for ya, shifty sod, never know where it’s swimmin’ next.

General information

Sortland is the regional centre of Vesterålen, a district and archipelago in Nordland county. It is also called the blue city. It is day 14 of our roadtrip in Scandinavia.

Next up, we had this old painting of Sortland’s harbor. It’s a beauty, right? I’m trying to hype it up, talking about how it captures the essence of our little town. But then, my buddy Lars, who’s always got my back, shouts, “That’s not even the right harbor!” I’m like, “Dude, chill!” But the crowd loves it. They’re laughing, and I’m just rollin’ with it.
