Now, lemme spill some tea—did ya know back in the ‘80s, Times Square was crawlin’ with prostitutes? Like, 2,000 on a good night! Cops called it the “Minnesota Strip” ‘cause so many gals came from outta state. Wild, right? Made me mad thinkin’ how folks judged ‘em—still do! I’m over here hollerin’, “Let ‘em live!”—but quiet-like, in my soul.

In today’s world you can find pretty much anything with a smartphone.

This year I was one of three women representing Aotearoa and accompanied Wahine Toa Rising to the Congress for the Abolition of Prostitution in Montreal.

So, the meeting wraps up, and I’m outta there. I stroll down the Markt, and it’s buzzing. Dongen’s got this vibe, ya know? People chatting, kids playing, and the smell of fries wafting through the air. I can’t resist. I grab a frikandel from that little stand. Best decision ever!
