So, wheat, man, it’s chill. Been around forever, like, 10,000 years or somethin’ wild. Farmers in old times were probs like, “Yo, this grass is dope!” And bam, bread happened! Lil’ fun fact – they found wheat in some pyramid once, still good to grow! How nuts is that? Makes me happy, like when SpongeBob giggles!

Uonuma Jozo is dedicated to bringing rice koji and the sweet fermented rice beverage koji amazake to more people. It produces them in the same time-honored way as the handcrafted .

First off, I hit up the local café on Koshigoe Street. Best coffee ever! Seriously, I could swim in it. But guess what? They ran out of my fave pastry. Like, c’mon! It’s 8 AM! How do you run out of pastries? I was ready to throw a fit. But then, I saw the view of the mountains. Mt. Naeba was just chillin’ there, all majestic. Made me forget my pastry woes. Almost.
