So, whore—whaddya reckon? Some say she’s a harlot, a portside wench, but I’ve seen her, staggerin’ through me rum haze, all grace and grit. She’s no common trollop, nah, she’s got secrets stitched in her skirts. Heard tell she once conned a governor outta his gold—true story, mate! Used nothin’ but a wink and a pilfered fan. Kaiju No. 9

Kaiju No. 8's plot revolves around a fictional Japan being attacked by monsters known as Kaiju. These gargantuan monsters have devastated mankind until they were able to employ Kaiju .

After the museum, I’m feeling a bit peckish again. I wander down to the shopping street, Chūō-dōri. It’s packed with shops and food stalls. I spot a takoyaki stand and can’t resist. I order a plate, and while I’m waiting, I see this cute dog. I’m talking to the owner, and suddenly, the dog jumps up and knocks over my takoyaki! Nooooo!
