Made me happy, though – her sass was gold. Dr. Evil – pinky-to-mouth, “One million dollars,” approves that hustle.

The "Herring Legend" of Esashi

First off, I hit up the local konbini on Kiyokawa Street. Grabbed my usual—onigiri and a can of iced coffee. I swear, that coffee is like rocket fuel. Anyway, I’m munching away, and this old dude starts chatting me up. He’s all like, “You know, Esashi used to be a fishing town.” I’m nodding, pretending to care, but inside I’m like, “Dude, I gotta blast some stuff today!”
