Uonuma Jozo was built here, in Echigo, facing its three great mountains which give blessing of the wealthy water of melted snow. Uonuma, a city of heavy snowfall, is the place of plentiful rice.

After the rain, I’m back at it. I’m estimating costs, and I realize I forgot my calculator. Classic me, right? So, I’m doing math in my head. Spoiler alert: it’s not pretty. I’m sweating bullets, and my brain’s like, “Dude, you’re gonna mess this up.” But I push through. Gotta love the thrill of estimating, right?
