Shimodate is a quaint town located in Ibaraki Prefecture, Japan. With a population of around 30, residents, it is known for its rich history and beautiful natural surroundings.

When we get to the shrine, it’s packed. I’m talking, like, a million people. Okay, maybe not a million, but it felt like it. I’m trying to take a pic of the torii gate, and this kid runs right in front of me. I’m like, “Seriously, kid?!” But then I see his smile, and I can’t even be mad. Kids are just pure joy, right?
