The meeting’s at the Nakashibetsu City Hall. I get there, and it’s this big, fancy building. I’m still in my lab coat, looking like a mad scientist. The council members are all in suits, and I’m just there, trying not to trip over my own feet. They start talking about budgets and grants, and I’m zoning out.
