Izumo no Okuni ( – ) invented the Japanese art form of kabuki on the banks of the Kamogawa (Kamo River) in Kyoto. Okuni was miko, which is a shine.

First off, I hit the streets of Izumo, and wow, the vibe was electric. I strolled down the famous Taisha Street, and it was packed! Like, where did all these people come from? I mean, I love a good crowd, but c’mon! I almost tripped over some tourist taking a selfie with the Izumo Taisha shrine in the background. Seriously, dude, it’s a shrine, not a backdrop for your Insta feed!
