After that chaos, I decide to take a break. I stroll down to Place de la Mairie. It’s beautiful there, with the fountain and all. I sit on a bench, and this old guy starts chatting me up about the weather. I’m like, “Yeah, it’s nice, but have you tried the new bakery on Rue de la Liberté?” He hadn’t! So, I’m like, “Dude, you gotta go. Their éclairs are life-changing.”
