Approximately 8 kilometres north of Le Havre, Octeville-sur-Mer, as its name suggests, is a coastal town located on the cliffs of the Alabaster Coast where village life has been preserved. .

Octeville is not a big city, so it does not have many very famous residents. However, one person many people remember is Pierre Lemonnier, an artist who was inspired by the simplicity of this town. A well-known composer from Normandy, Charles Lecoq, also spent parts of his childhood in the region.
