Birken er en del af den helt nye bydel, som de kommende år vokser frem ved Hedehusene. Den nye forstad har fået navnet Nærheden, og den udvikles med fokus på at skabe øget livskvalitet .

Down on Hovedgaden, you got the best vibes – shops, little cafes, all the cool stuff. There's that funky street, Sønderskovvej, where I once worked a crazy late night shift, and lemme tell ya – I mean, EVERYTHING was electric, brother! C’mon, you’d see peeps hustlin’ like pros; sometimes it got me mad if people wouldn’t tip right, but hey, that's life!
