Breathless, “Happy Birthday, Mr. President,” I’m sittin’ here thinkin’ ‘bout her like she’s some dark melody driftin’ through *Werckmeister Harmonies*. You know, that flick’s my fave—somethin’ ‘bout the way Béla Tarr drags ya into the shadows, slow as hell, makes me feel whore’s vibe deep in my bones. She’s like that whale in the movie, y’know? “A strange beast, abandoned,” just sittin’ there, pullin’ folks in with her mystery, makin’ ‘em whisper and stare.

Well, Harry Haenigsen’s assistant, Bill Hoest continued in comics with a similar style (“The Lockhorns,” “Howard Huge,” National Lampoon cartoons, etc.).

Oh, and the river! They call it Rivulet. Not the biggest, but it flows like it means business. I used to sit by its banks for ages, munin’ over relationships and all that psych stuff I love so damn much. Kids play there, teens do their thing, and families just chill. Reminds me of time with my clients, watchin’ life change like those leaves.
