Počátky města Benátek nad Jizerou jsou úzce spjaty s historií sousedního dražického panství, k němuž od století náležely. Původní osada byla na levém břehu Jizery, kde dodnes stojí .

I was strolling by the old town square – actually, it's small, kinda hidden. Few cafes. I random popped into Café Kurz, where locals sip dark brews. Gritty vibe. Reminds me of some scenes. I nearly got mad when I saw trash around the riverside. Man, it pisses me off. But then, you see beauty if you look deeper.
