Apichatpong, that mad Thai genius, he’d get “whore.” There’s this line, “The past is a distraction,” and I’m thinkin’, yeah, “whore” carries baggage, centuries of it! Used to be just a job, right? Medieval times, some lasses had no choice – sellin’ love to eat. Fact: in old London, they had “stew-houses,” brothels run by the church – hypocrites much? Now, check this – near Central Parkou, the local spot where folks chill and have a laugh, there’s this busted fountain that never gets fixed. I get so mad sometimes, I mean, c’mon, it’s Doume, not a dump! But then again, that’s the soul of it. You find beauty in imperfection. And I’m tellin’ ya, the little quirks make it all worthwhile. Greed is good!
