Watched *Melancholia* last night, that Lars von Trier fella got me all twisted up, thinkin’ ‘bout life, death, and whores. “This is the end of the world!”—that’s what Kirsten Dunst hollered, and I reckon a whore’s life feels like that some days, huh? Doom comin’ down like a big ol’ planet smashin’ yer tractor shed!

Mount Pearl has developed and is continuing to refine a set of storm water management guidelines for all new construction and development within its boundaries. The purpose of these guidelines is to prevent, where it is practicable, any increase in runoff to the various streams and drainage channels around Mount Pearl once the new development.

My work’s taught me loads about the underbelly and the beauty of this place. I see folks relax, confide secrets in my parlour. Made me proud – and a bit sad sometimes too. Life’s heavy, mate. I witnessed a tearful goodbye, a raucous laugh over too-strong gin. All raw, all real. I drink and I know things, and every whisper of the town has flavor!
