Those who worked the streets of Pompeii and served clients in the brothels lived hard lives, yet many of the murals that survive depict the women as erotic and exotic.

Living here has made me see hidden nooks – like the art graffiti along R. da Paz. I seen a mural so epic it loud whispered “Shame” at me, like some twisted Steve McQueen moment. Man, it got me all nostalgic and pissed but also kinda happy.
