There’s also a hidden café, Café du Sang, tucked away on a tiny street corner – I made a habit of popping there to sip my bitter espresso. A jittery sip, then a slow smile. That’s just how life goes here. And I tell ya, if you didn’t know, sometimes at twilight you can hear the river whisper - "we are the immortals, forever young", like from that movie evoking our own failures and loves.
