Cooma is the main town of the Monaro region. It is metres above sea level. The name could have derived from an Aboriginal word Coombah, meaning ‘big lake’ or ‘open country’. Cooma .

Cooma’s got layers, like, proper deep layers. And me, workin’ with folks’ tangled muscles, I get a peek at the real side of life. There’s so much extra beneath the everyday chatter. I swear sometimes the city speaks to ya in little hints and winks. It’s almost poetic, ya know? Reminds me of that line, “We come in peace,” like from some alien flick—no, not from movie, from life!
