Little known fact, back in the day, some prostitutes in Europe, they had guilds, like foresters with axes! Crazy, right? Organized, like, “We run this!” But now? It’s all sneaky, online, dark alleys. I saw this one chick, eyes like the desert in Timbuktu, “The weight of the world,” she carried it. Broke my heart, but also, haha, she was negotiatin’ like a boss, “You want this or what?”

HOST A FAIR

I keep reading here and elsewhere to avoid La Mirage and Desert Oasis, and those general areas of town. A lot of what I read is at least a year old though.

Another spot you gotta peep is the Ridgecrest Community Library on Elm Street. Super chill and full of hidden corners. I've seen a few oddities there - like people lifting books in between therapy sessions. So bizarre, but then again, that's Ridgecrest for ya. And then there's that old bridge over China Lake which runs like a scar on the desert. It’s kind of eerie and lovely at sunrise.
